Request I drew a structure away from the center of the drawing sheet (dotted area). Can I bring it back to the origin?
Answer Yes, it is possible to move a structure and reposition it at the center of the drawing sheet using the UCS (User Coordinate System) function available in the program. It is important to note that the "Move UCS" function was designed to assist the technician during the modeling of buildings with external or internal envelopes that do not follow the standard orientation of the X and Y axes, allowing greater convenience in drawing. The "Move UCS" function allows you to move and rotate the model, positioning it relative to the center of the drawing sheet.
How to proceed: Go to the desired level, access the "Tools" menu in the toolbar, and select the UCS option;
From the contextual menu, select "New UCS";
The first mouse click defines the center of the drawing sheet;
The second click determines the model’s direction.
The model will thus be oriented according to the new axes system defined. Once positioned, it will be necessary to return to the "UCS" option and select the "Consolidate" command to confirm the new reference system.
WARNING It is essential to emphasize that this function is intended exclusively to facilitate modeling. Therefore, if a new UCS is defined and consolidated in a file that already contains sheets, additional graphics, roll-ins, etc., only the model (architectural, MEP, and terrain) will be rotated and repositioned. All other elements with a precise position in the file—such as graphic sheets, 2D graphics, labels, finishes, rooms, renderings, roll-ins, etc.—will remain unchanged and will need to be “repositioned” afterward.
