Create a custom view by activating only specific objects from visibility

Request
How can I create a custom view where only part of the model’s objects are displayed?

Response
In Edificius you can create a custom view using the My VIEWS command found in the Visibility menu.
The created view can be recalled both in the levels and in 3D, helping with BIM modelling.
Each view also allows you to set a ground level to apply.

The visibility of objects obtained through these views can be correctly exported in both 3D formats (OBJ, Collada, etc.) and IFC format.
The views can also be recalled in drawing layouts, for example to print only part of the project.

How to create a view
To create a view, for example from 3D, do the following:
  1. Make visible only the objects that should belong to the view.
  2. Click on the Visibility menu in the ribbon at the top.
  3. Select My VIEWS.
  4. Click on Add VIEW (Active Visibility).
  5. In the My VIEWS Management window, define the view’s Title and Description.

You can access the same panel later by selecting My VIEWS Management again (step 3).

Additional features
  • In the management panel you can modify the visibility of individual entities in the model.
  • With the Other functions... command you can create a view starting from an active drawing layout (open on screen), or from a specific day in the 4D-Gantt.

Note:
All objects drawn after creating the views belong by default to all views.
From the properties toolbox you can still define view membership for both new objects and those already in the model.
