I want to share a technical support request

Request
Is it possible to assign the "resource type" marker to a free entry row when using the rate analysis tool?

Answer
The 'Resource Type' can only be associated with the document's Price List items
-> see image: from the extended data window in the 'Price List' editor
-> see image: directly from the 'Rate Analysis' editor

A 'Free Entry' is an element NOT defined as a Price list item and therefore can not be associated with any type of resource.
In the free entry description row, the letter 'F' is shown as an identification.
A free entry row (without any rates or quantities) can also be used to add titles or comments.
For a free entry row, you can always change quantity and unit rate.

The element can be created as a price list item directly in the 'Rate Analysis' view; -> see figure

Creating the analysis element as a price list item has the following advantages:
a) the item created as a price list item can be associated with the relatedType of Resource;
b) the element can be reused in the other analyzes without having to recreate it every time; operation performed quickly with a simple Drag & Drop of the item from the Price List toolbox
Price Analysis-> see figure
Note - the free entry, on the other hand, must be created from scratch in all rate analysis when necessary
c) the modification/discounting of the item's unit rate from Price List view, involves the recalculation and the dynamic updating of the unit rates for all those rates where the element was used.
Note - the modification/updating of the unit rate for a free entry row must be done manually in all rates where used
