Felix | Technical SpecificationsFelix 2014-02-28 18:57:24 A new discussion with the intention to share a technical issue QUESTION What kind of information is contained in the Technical Specifications document? Where can it be composed? ANSWER GENERAL CONTENTS The Technical Specifications document is normally part of the General Contract when dealing with Public works This document contains all the necessary technical elements that correctly define the scope of works addressing both the engineering and financial aspects of the project. Such elements are considered as additional information of those aspects that can't be easily deducted from drawings or other construction documents belonging to the project. DOCUMENT ORGANIZATION This document lists all of the various arrangements of work categories that are to be carried out by the contractor and identified with the same rate code used in the Bill of Quantities related Price List together with the according descriptions. A detailed list of all pertinent works is also supplied in relation to the General Description of each Work arrangement (CAWS). COMPOSITION Composition of the "Technical Specifications" document is carried out by using a series of "Markers" that are activated from the "Measurement Row" editor's local menu. For each BoQ item, a detailed description of the work arrangements (descriptions/measurments, etc.) is added by indicating the specific detail with a marker. These details are then listed in the specific Document.
