Question: What is the "Enable Memory Management" option in the program's "General" section under Calculation Preferences? Answer: Selecting the "Enable Memory Management" check box causes the data necessary for calculation to be temporarily transferred to files instead of being kept in memory. This option allows optimizes memory use in the event of complex calculation models (very large structures, with many two-dimensional elements (shell) and/or with multiple vibration modes), and to avoid the risk of system instability due to insufficient memory. When this option is enabled, the calculation process may slow down compared to ordinary mode due to continuous data transfers from memory to file and vice versa. |
