TonyC | DXF/DWG - Import process aborted: No entities recognizedTonyC 2016-01-07 16:03:35 I'm sharing this new topic with our users QUESTION: When importing a DXF/DWG file I get the following error message: WARNING: No entities recognized What's going wrong? ANSWER: This may happen when the DXF/DWG file that you are trying to import doesn't contain any compatible information. In these cases, you can try to: 1) Open the DXF/DWG CAD file with your own CAD Application; 2) Save the file again as DXF/DWG but choosing a different format such as 2007 or 2010 and then close the CAD; 3) At this stage, try importing the DXF/DWG CAD file again, saved in “2007” or "2010" format, into EdiLus. |
Coya | Coya 2019-12-31 09:54:12 Hello! I tried several dwg/dxf files and it did not work, always "Warning! No entities recognized" appeared. I attatch an example, just a rectangle in dwg R2007. I tried dwg R2018, R2010, R2000 and even dxf. Regards, Coya 572570_1577782445_pruebaparaedilus_plantilla_rectangulo.zip |
Coya | Coya 2019-12-31 19:09:15 Hello! Finally, the former dwg file -only a rectangle- did work in another Edilus file, but this one did not. It is also very simple, just some lines to introduce some columns and beams. 572570_1577815745_pruebaparaedilus_plantilla_prueba05.zip Regards, Coya |
Tony | Tony 2020-01-07 10:18:06 Hi, please use your CAD application to "explode" any Blocks contained in your File. Try saving the new file in dxf/dwg version 2007 and try reloading it. Let me know how it goes. |
Coya | Coya 2020-02-10 09:40:33 Hello, Tony: Thank you for your answer. It worked some times, but testing several times it did not always work. Regards, Coya |
Tony | Tony 2020-02-10 09:54:39 Hi, That's not a problem. Should you have difficulties with exploding and loading your Dxf/Dwg, just let us know. You can send us your CAD file and we can try to load it in an Empty EdiLus file. However, if you try to remove any unwanted entities, (measurement lines, unwanted text, any other side drawing that aren't required) try removing them and then explode all the rest. Then save in file version 2007, 2010 and try loading. This procedure simplifies the CAD drawing and always tends to work when loading into EdiLus. Regards |

Tony | Tony 2021-08-27 09:00:37 If you attach your file here I can see where the problem is. Regards |
