How to pick dimensions for depth and external ground thickness. Whether these dimensions depend on the slab on ground's characteristic dimension.
For example, if the characteristic dimension is 4 m (B’), and the ground dimension is 10 m (2.5 * 4m(B’)), the program performs calculations for quite a long time and eventually shuts down.
Thanks for sending your file. From what I can see, the software needs to build a calculation model based on an enormous terrain section up to 10m in depth which isn't necessary. I've reduced the calculation section referring to the terrain and setting the boundary to Adiabatic so as to consider heat exchange with the terrain. With a smaller section, the software can run the calculation correctly. Please check your file now. Under the "PRINT" tab, you'll also find the full calcualtion report.
