Error while opening a DXF/DWG file: unknown entities

John 2014-10-29 12:13:31

Here's a new technical support issue that I wanted to share with our Users.

QUESTION
While importing a drawing in the dxf/dwg format, the following message appears:
"Error while opening a DXF/DWG file: unknown entities"

ANSWER
The message appears while importing dxf/dwg drawings and caused by the ACCA_DWG.exe application that could be missing or disabled by the Antivirus program.

To correctly import the dwg/dxf CAD drawings, make sure that ACCA_DWG.exe is available in its installation folder and add it to the Reliable applications list in your Antivirus program settings.

Also make sure that the Edificius Folder is added to the reliable applications list.

Try reinstalling Teigha...
Here's how to proceed:
- open the C:\ACCA\.Common\TeighaX_x64 folder
- double click the file "TeighaX_vc10_amd64dll.msi" with the left mouse button;
- proceed with the repair/installation following the proposed indications.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi there
it seems to me that the original CAD drawing it was created by using millimetric or centimetric dimension, if this is the case please consider to adopt an appropriate scaling factor at the beginning of the importation process
