Creating spherical or partial spherical entities

How would I go about creating roof domes, or curved supporting beams and columns?

I don't want complex toroidal or multi-curved surfaces though. (Well, at least not yet!)

You can insert these kind of objects by using a 3D model. Of course, you can try downloading a predefined model or you can model what you need using the SketchUp integration feature.

Click here to see how to import a 3D model:

Here's how to activate the sketchup integration process:

I don't have time left to learn Sketchup as well right now, haha.

I'll definitely search for quality 3D libraries online though; maybe Sketchup's online resource. Can you recommend any libraries?

I had a fiddle with the 3D Spherical MagneticGrid tool. When I've used Edificius a while longer, then I'll know how to make more use of that tool for curved designs.

Those 2 videos are quite helpful, thank you.

PS Where did the following DXF come from in the Magnetic Grid Auto-detect DXF video >>

To insert a typical Vault structure, I'd suggest inserting it as a 3D Model. Have a look at this video showing how to proceed:
video.accasoftware.com/EN/edificius/id24/index.html?idPLV=1744&autoplay=1

You can open the 3D Models library directly in Edificius. Have a look at this video:
video.accasoftware.com/EN/edificius/id24/index.html?idPLV=5912&autoplay=1

Furthermore, you can insert 3D Models in any format:
video.accasoftware.com/EN/edificius/id24/index.html?idPLV=1745&autoplay=1

The DXF drawing used in the video is just an example made for the purpose of this video.
You can also have a look in the EdiLus examples folder (C:\ACCA\EdiLus\Examples).

Thanks for those videos. I watched them again more closely after your recommendation. Then I had a go importing a couple of 3D models using the 3DWarehouse integration feature of Edificius.

However, it gave an error message about newer software versions. I tried Sketchup 2015, 2014, 2013 models through the dialog import box but to no avail. See attached screenshot >>

I'm using Edificius v.7.00b so what is happening?

dear sir,
please try downloading a SketchUp model in Version 8 (3D warehouse lets you choose) or try installing SketchUp 2016

Let us know how it goes.

Best Regards
