Request How can I recover a backup copy in Edificius-CAD?
Response In Edificius-CAD, you can configure the program to periodically save drawings. When auto-save is enabled, the program creates a copy of the drawing.
Here’s how to locate the backup folder and adjust the save options:
Open Edificius-CAD;
In the Menu bar, select the Tools menu and click the Options button. Alternatively, you can type _CONFIG in the command bar and press Enter;
In the General tab of the "Options" window, you can enable/disable auto-save and set its save frequency;
Click on the Paths/Files tab to locate the save path for "Automatic Backup";
Double-click the left mouse button on this path to open the corresponding folder;
Find the file to recover (the original file name with the extension .SV$);
Copy and paste the file to the desktop;
Change the extension from .SV$ to .dwg;
Try opening the renamed file.
P.S.: In step 4, you can also specify a different path for saving backup files.
Hello The Files should first be located on your PC. Although you have restored your EDIFICIUS, at some point you should have saved these files on your computer.
We can't be of much help if we do not have physical access to your Files.
Once you have located your files, keep in mind that even if you update Edificius to the latest release, project files saved with a previous version are only converted and not corrupted. Again, you would have to:
1.- Locate the files in your PC. 2.- Open them directly (to try to repair it with the version in which they were created and NOT from the "Recents" (either from Edificius recent or Windows' recent.).
