How to Associate 3D Material with the Roof

Here's an interesting technical support request that was sent in from one of our users.

Request:
I need to associate a 3D material with the roof of my building. How should I proceed?

Response:
The new usBIM(e) release of Edificius allows you to achieve a more realistic representation of the model and project elements, thanks to the introduction of 3D Materials.
Click HERE to view the image.

To display the 3D material in the model and graphic sheets, it must be associated with the classic 2D texture used for the representation of the Roof and Dormer entities.
To apply the 3D Material, follow these steps:

Option A Click HERE to view the image.
- Open the 3D view (default);
- click on the Materials button;
- choose the texture to use from usBIM.library;
- apply it to the upper face of the Roof/Dormer with the bucket tool.

Option B Click HERE to view the image.
- Select the Roof/Dormer;
- in the property toolbox, in the Materials section, click on the name of the texture assigned to the upper face and then on the "..." button;
- choose the texture to use from usBIM.library and confirm.

For files created with previous versions of the software, it is necessary to associate the 3D Material with the texture used for the covering.
